Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is your personal information that can be used by a cybercriminal to identify or locate you.
This can be your name, address, phone numbers, date of birth, National Insurance or Social Security Number, IP address, location details, or any other physical or digital identity data.
We should be extra careful about what we share on social media. Social media companies quite often change owners and update their privacy terms and conditions.
It’s a good idea to regularly review your privacy settings across all your social media accounts, particularly Facebook.
Ask yourself why you need to add any piece of information (address, phone number etc) and if it’s really necessary.
